Fact Check: FAKE Video Shows A Fiery Crash Landing Of A Passenger Plane On A Wet Georgia Highway -- AI-Generated Made With AI

Does a real video show the moment a passenger plane made an emergency landing on a highway in Georgia? No, that's not true: This video is AI-generated. The Hive Moderation AI-generated content detection tool found the video was 96.1% likely to be AI-generated. Searches of Google News did not show a recent incident involving a large passenger plane crash landing on a Georgia highway. Results did show different real incidents, none of which match the scene pictured in the video.

The fake video appeared in a post (archived here) published by the X account @NafisAnsari7 on Aug. 5, 2026. It was captioned:

Lead Stories searched Google News for the phrases, "emergency landing on highway" (archived here) and "plane landing on highway in georgia" (archived here). The results do not include a fiery crash landing of a large passenger jet on a rain-slicked Georgia highway as pictured in the video. There are several real incidents which top these search results, all small planes:

  • On Aug. 3, 2026, a small plane safely made an emergency landing on I-10 in Florida -- dramatic footage of the landing was captured by a trucker's dashcam.
  • A small World War II-era plane made a safe emergency landing on Highway 19 in Georgia on July 17, 2026.
  • March 13, 2026, a small plane landed on Highway 74 in Peachtree City, Ga. No injuries were reported.
  • In another Georgia emergency landing on Feb. 9, 2026, a small plane collided with several vehicles when it landed on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville. Minor injuries were reported.
