Does a viral image show the real face of a woman who seemed to have waved at migrants in Ceuta, Spain? No, that's not true: The picture portrayed the woman with an anatomically impossible nose. The image was generated by AI, according to AI verification tools and instructions for the original version of the image.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X by @NadjiaFoxx on Aug. 1, 2026. It read:

The post also shared a grainy video of a woman who appeared to be waving at the people who were running toward her in Ceuta (archived here), a Spanish town still overwhelmed, as of this writing, by a sudden influx of thousands of migrants from Morocco. Thus, the implication was that the still image showed a close-up of that woman's real face.
But that wasn't true.
Online AI detector ZeroGPT said the image was "91% FAKE":

Sightengine, another online tool, showed a higher probability of the picture being a product of generative AI: 99%.

Hive Moderation confirmed the findings. According to it, it was 99.8% likely that the image of the woman was created by AI:

The main giveaway was an abnormality of the woman's nose: Contrary to the image, the bridge of the human nose does not usually continue above the eye line (archived here).

The earliest version of the picture found by Lead Stories (archived here) came from the 4chan anonymous message board. Its caption explicitly used the word "prompt," a term used to describe instructions given to AI:
