Fact Check: FAKE Video Shows Australian PM Collapsing, Falling Face First Into The Ground AI-Generated

Is a video that shows Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese collapsing and falling face first into the ground real? No, that's not true: Video published by an international news outlet did not show Albanese falling when he arrived in Fiji on Oct. 5, 2026. An AI detection tool determined the video was 98.8% likely to have been created with AI.

The claim appeared in a video (archived here) by @aliecxg account on X on Oct. 5, 2026. It read:

🔴🔴Urgent Now

The Australian Prime Minister suddenly collapses while receiving an official delegation from abroad, amid a state of confusion at the scene.

The circumstances of what happened are still under investigation: was it a sudden health crisis or an assassination attempt...?!!

The setting in which the fall supposedly took place is similar to real footage published by the international news outlet APT News on its YouTube account @APT_news (archived here) of Albanese arriving in Fiji on Oct. 5, 2026 (archived here). Beginning at 0:28 in the video, Albanese approaches a small stage with a red carpet. He does not fall off the stage at any point in the video.

A visual analysis found Albanese's body unnaturally rigid and angled as he appeared to dive off the stage. His hands were misshapen and small with very thin fingers before he put them out to break his fall. This is a screenshot from 0:04 in the video with a red circle around his hands added by Lead Stories:

Had Albanese fallen off the stage and crashed face first into the ground it would have been international news. Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo News (archived here) and found several incidents of him falling but none that matched the footage of him on the red stage at the airport in Fiji.
