Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show Bolsonaro With Fewer Votes In Second Round Of 2026 Brazilian Presidential Election, Proving Fraud -- Vote Count Was Incomplete Partial Tally

Does a video show Flávio Bolsonaro with fewer votes in the second round of the Brazilian presidential election in October 2026 than in the first, proving fraud? No, that's not true: The vote count was incomplete, with about 93% of the ballots counted, and the video does not show the final results. Once all ballots were counted, Bolsonaro had 3.7 million more votes than in the first round, even though he lost the election to incumbent Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) by the @KayrusFenix account on X on Oct. 25, 2026. Translated from Portuguese to English, it read:

🔴 FRAUD UNCOVERED
A video to explain how the votes were discounted for Flávio Bolsonaro... It's obvious to everyone!

CANCEL THE ELECTIONS NOW!!!

This is what a screenshot of the video in the post looked like at the time of writing:

The video is embedded below:

This is the transcript of what was said in the video, translated into English:

Dude, you guys forgive me, but this right here is inexplicable to me.

First round: the guy got 56 million votes, right? First round, this one got 53 million votes.

Second round: nearly 92% of the, of the ballot boxes counted, the guy went from 53 to 58 million. Okay, he got 5 million votes. He took all of... six now, right? He took all the votes from all the other candidates.

The crazy guy is struggling to get 56 million again. Forgive me, man, this is inexplicable to me.

You mean not a single vote was transferred to him? You mean no voter from Cury, Renan, or Caiado voted for Flávio? You mean no one who abstained, who didn't vote, voted for him? How can that be?

The guy got 56 million in the first round; he can't even hit 56...

At the time the video was recorded, the count in the second round of voting was approaching 93% of the total votes cast and continued to update as the video played. Lead Stories combined screenshots taken at 55 and 57 seconds into the video to show the incomplete tally at that time. The count shows Lula with 59.5 million votes and Bolsonaro with 55.6 million in their runoff election:

Bolsonaro won the first round of voting on Oct. 4, 2026, with 47% of the total and 56.1 million votes. Lula came in second with 45% and 53.9 million votes. But since neither candidate received a majority of the total in the 12-candidate race, a runoff was held on Oct. 25, 2026.

The first-round results (archived here) from the Brazilian news website G1, which was the site shown in the video, appear below:

The poster's claim in the video that Bolsonaro had not received 56 million votes was accurate at the time, with about 93% of ballots counted, but proved incorrect once all votes were tallied. The final tally was 51.8% and 64.3 million votes for Lula, and 48.2% and 59.8 million votes for Bolsonaro, or 3.7 million more votes than Bolsonaro received in the first round.

The second-round results (archived here) from the G1 news website appear below:
