Does a video show touchscreen voting machines selecting the wrong candidates for the Nov. 3, 2026, midterm elections? No, that's not true: The video combines two clips from earlier elections, one from 2019 and the other from 2014. Neither shows a voting machine malfunctioning during the 2026 elections.
The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) by the @IAMJUSTICE555 account on X on Oct. 21, 2026. It read:
Can you say national emergency!!!?
Electronic voting machine will not let voter select the Republican candidate that they want to vote for and automatically selects the Democrat candidate instead.
This is what a screenshot of the two clips in the video in the post looked like at the time of writing:

Neither of the two voting clips in the video is from the 2026 elections.
The first 41 seconds of the video show voting in an Aug. 27, 2019, Republican primary runoff election (archived here) in Mississippi between then-Lieutenant Gov. Tate Reeves and Bill Waller Jr., former chief justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court and son of former Mississippi Gov. William Waller Sr. Both candidates were Republicans, so the clip shows no vote being switched from Republican to Democrat
The final 31 seconds of the video show a Nov. 4, 2014 general election (archived here) for Virginia's 2nd Congressional District, in which Democrat Suzanne Patrick challenged Republican Scott Rigell. Rigell won the election. Although the video shows a finger tapping on Rigell's name while an X appears next to Patrick's, the footage is from an election held nearly 12 years ago, not 2026.
