With stories about a cat that has his hair and alleged threats by an escaped Mexican drug lord, Donald Trump continues to suck up much of the social network oxygen in the Republican race for president. Also online interest in Bernie Sanders is surging versus Hillary Clinton, according to the latest Lead Stories' Trendolizer Political Ranking compiled Tuesday afternoon.

The ranking is calculated hourly from social net posts, likes, tweets and pins measured and analyzed by the Trendolizer. While it does not reflect support -- since the posts could and often are negative -- it does measure the level of interest in each candidate.

The top 10 trending posting relating to Trump were liked at a rate of 33,726 times per hour during the 4 p.m. ET hour on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. This represented one-third of all likes registered during that hour for any of the 22 announced or possible Republican and Democratic presidential candidates tracked by Trendolizer. Trump's rate is consistent with what Trendolizer measured during the same hour a day before.

Trump's rate of likes is more than 5 times the pace of the next GOP contender, Scott Walker, whose Tuesday 4pET rate was 6,328. Jeb Bush was 3rd among Republicans with 5,522 likes per hour. Ted Cruz was 4th at 4,474; Ben Caron was 5th with 3,143; Rick Perry was 6th at 2,694; Carly Florina was 7th at 2,168; Bobby Jindal was 8th at 1,741; Marco Rubio was 9th at 1,687; Rand Paul was 10th with 1,368; Chris Christie 11th at 1,285; Lindsey Graham 12th at 1,223; Rick Santorum 13th at 931; George Pataki at 14th with 812; Mike Huckabee 15th at 262; John Kasich was the 16th and lowest Republican with just 24 likes during the hour.

Bernie Sanders was the most interesting Democratic presidential candidate on social networks Tuesday afternoon with a rate of 26,313 likes per hour as measured by Trendolizer. Hillary Clinton got barely half as much attention with a rate of 13,803 likes counted during the 4pET hour.

Far behind Sanders and Clinton were Jim Webb with a rate of 1,154; Joe Biden (who has not jumped in the race, but has not ruled it out) with 163 likes; Lincoln Chafee with just 5 likes for the hour.
