A secret meeting between Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts senator many see as a rival to Hillary Clinton, is seen as another sign the vice president is nearing a decision on if he'll jump into the 2016 presidential race.
CNN reported that Biden quietly returned to Washington on Saturday morning, August 22, for a face-to-face talk with Warren at his official D.C. home. The report cited as sources "two people familiar with the session."
Biden's official schedule said he would be at his Delaware home for the weekend, but the CNN report quoted an unnamed Biden aide saying he "traveled last minute to Washington, D.C. for a private meeting and will be returning to Delaware."

Warren, who is popular among the more liberal wing of the Democratic Party, told a Boston radio station Friday "I don't think anyone has been annointed" as her party's candidate.
Clinton's lagging poll numbers and a better-than-expected challenge from Bernie Sanders, the Vermont senator who is self-described as a social democrat, have heightened calls for Biden to join the presidential fray.
Biden has previously indicated he would make a final decision on jumping into the race for the Democratic nomination by "late summer."
