French officials declared a security alert in Paris Tuesday afternoon and ordered the closure and evacuation of several metro train stations.
The Place de la République and the metro train stations surrounding it were back to normal after about an hour, according to CNN.
Paris: Place de la Republique. Metro on lines 3, 5, 8, 9, 11 resumed. "No suspicious item was found" according to the Interior Ministry.
