Joe Jackson's '100% Alive': 'Rumors Of My Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated'

  • by: Alan Duke

Joe Jackson, the 87-year-old patriarch of the legendary Jackson music family, insists he is "100% alive," despite recent tabloid reports that he was gravely ill and surrounded by family at a Los Angeles hospital.

"I am 100% Alive," a tweet posted Thursday morning on Jackson's Twitter account said.

It included a photo of Jackson, the father of Michael and Janet Jackson, sitting on an ocean-side deck and it linked to a story on his personal website that also included a quote. "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Please ignore all the stupid false rumors from people who seem to find humor in such topics."

Jackson suffered a heart scare last July while in Brazil. Jackson, who has suffered at least two strokes in the past, was given a pacemaker in a procedure at Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, a source said.
