Katherine Lewin is a bilingual reporter for Lead Stories' Spanish desk. She has worked for the Florida Times-Union, the Santa Fe Reporter and Miami Today News. As a journalist, she loves to work with public records and data. In her free time, she's usually surfing or hiking with her two dogs.
She was a Report for America corps member from 2019 - 2021 in New Mexico and covered Santa Fe's Southside -- its immigrant and indigenous communities, service industry workers, entrepreneurs and families -- through stories that impacted their lives.
She has freelanced as a writer, photographer and videographer for numerous publications since college, including USA Today, the Tampa Bay Times, the St. Augustine Record, Happs News, Al-Jazeera Plus, Human Rights Campaign, the Florida Bulldog and Seminole Magazine.
She is a previous grantee for the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting, traveling to to Havana, Cuba to cover the housing crisis.
