Tomas Hrivnak | Lead Stories
Tomas Hrivnak was awarded the Arnost Heinrich Prize, awarded by the Czech Syndicate of Journalists for the best bachelor's thesis, for his 2019 piece on the drought in Slovakia, which was published in one of the nation's biggest newspapers, Denník N. He has worked as a reporter and photographer for the newspaper since 2020.In 2021 and 2023, he won the Slovak Press Photo Award in the World of Art and Culture category. In 2022, he won the Slovak Press Photo Award in the special category Grant of Bratislava. He won the 2021 Journalism Award for the best written reportage. The reporter participated in multiple projects with the European Data Journalism Network and took part in the two-month IJP fellowship in the newsroom of Stern Magazine in Hamburg, Germany. In 2023, he began working as a fact-checker with Lead Stories.
