Did Barack and Michelle Obama sell their Martha's Vineyard estate to Les Wexner, a money management client of Jeffrey Epstein? No, that's not true. The home that Wexner purchased on Martha's Vineyard in July 2025 had been rented for Obama summer vacations from 2009 to 2011, while Obama was president. Though they later bought an estate on Martha's Vineyard, that is not the home Wexner bought.
The claim originated in a post (archived here) where it was published on X.com on August 5, 2025. It opened:
So...
Are we supposed to ignore that the Obamas just sold their Martha's Vineyard mansion to Lex Wexner who's personal money manager that had power of attorney over his finances was...
Jeffrey Epstein
Not making any of that up.

The Blue Heron Farm home on Cobbs Hills Road in Martha's Vineyard was purchased by Wexner, a billionaire retail magnate, through a trust, for $37 million in July 2025, according to the Vineyard Gazette (archived here):
Attorney Matthew Zeiger is named as the trustee in the deed for the property, according to the Real Deal website (archived here).
Zeiger is based in New Albany, Ohio, a town Wexner lives in and is largely credited with developing, and serves as the office for the Wexner Family Charitable Fund, the Wexner Foundation and other companies tied to the family.
The Obamas did not own the home. They stayed in the home beginning in 2009, according to a New York Times article (archived here) published at the time of their first vacation to the home:
The Obama family is spending the week in the town of Chilmark at "Blue Heron Farm," a sprawling rental that sits on a pond at the end of a secluded path.
The Vineyard Gazette also reported on the Obamas' first summer renting the Martha's Vineyard home (archived here) and on the Obamas purchasing their own home, not Blue Heron Farm, on Martha's Vineyard in 2019 (archived here).
