Coca-Cola Is NOT To Bring Back Original Recipe Soda Made With Cocaine

Fact Check

  • by: Lead Stories Staff

There is a HOAX story trending on the internet stating that "Coca-Cola To Bring Back Original Recipe Soda Made With Cocaine." It is true that for a time in its early years, Coca-Cola did contain cocaine for "medicinal purposes," but they discontinued that over a century ago. Although the NOT TRUE story comes form a known satire and hoax site, not everyone is aware of that and continue to share the lies.

A brief summary of the NOT TRUE story:

For years, Coca-Cola has been the only company in the world with government licensing to import the coca plant, the same one used in making cocaine, for use in their products. The company literally "de-cocanizies" the plants, and uses natural extracts of them to create the "natural flavors" of the soda. All that changes, though, next month, when Coca-Cola brings back their original recipe, which no longer takes the cocaine out of the coca plant.

Fans of Coca-Cola fear not, the recipe will NOT be changing anytime soon. Fans of cocaine will have to contiune to buy their supply on the black market from their favorite local dealer, until someone Stops The Hypocrisy.
