Fact Check: FAKE Viral Security Camera Video Shows Bunnies Hopping On a Trampoline AI Clip

Did a widely-shared video show authentic footage of real bunnies hopping on a back-yard trampoline at night? No, that's not true: The clip in question was the product of AI. One of the bunnies disappears over the course of the video, while another changes shape -- visual glitches that are often indicative of AI-generated video.

The video appeared in a July 27, 2025, post on TikTok (archived here), with the caption:

Just checked the home security cam and... I think we've got guest performers out back! @Ring #bunny #ringdoorbell #ring #bunnies #trampoline

The video garnered more than 57 million views in just one day, and was reposted on other platforms, including X (archived here).

It can be watched below:

In reality, that was not authentic home security footage, and those were not real bunnies. The whole clip was AI-generated.

Two visual glitches demonstrate this.

Firstly, one of the bunnies simply disappears. At the outset, there are six bunnies on the trampoline:

At 00:05, the one furthest from the camera jumps up and simply merges into the one next to it, leaving only five bunnies on the trampoline by the end of the video:

Finally, the bunny that starts off third-farthest from the camera suddenly changes shape just before the end of the video:
