Hoax Alert: Donald Trump DID NOT Say Harriet Tubman's Face Belongs On Food Stamps

Fact Check

  • by: Alan Duke

A fake story detected as trending by Lead Stories' Trendolizer system purports that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has attacked the U.S. Treasury Department's plans to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill.

Not only is this trending story a hoax, but it is also racist. The FreddyMag.com story quotes Trump as saying "Harriet Tubman's face is more deserving of a EBT card than a twenty dollar bill."

"Donald Trump posted on his Facebook page that he believes Harriet Tubman's face belongs on a food stamp card and America needs to stop punching out to the pressure of minorities and groups. Trump sys he won't allow any of his companies to accept Harriet Tubman twenties... "

This is no such posting on Trump's Facebook page. The story is a total hoax.

This site describes itself as a "satirical urban culture news" site.
