Hoax Alert: Sarah Palin DID NOT Say 'Muhammad Ali Is Proof That Black Muslims Are Violent'

Fact Check

  • by: Lead Stories Staff

There's a trending HOAX story that is nothing more than ignorant racism, stating "Sarah Palin: "Muhammad Ali Is Proof That Black Muslims Are Violent." The NOT TRUE story comes from a website that bills itself as "Newslo is the first hybrid News/Satire platform on the web." The website needs to look up the definition of satire because this NOT TRUE story goes way beyond simple satire.

A brief part of the HOAX story:

"Like, you've got Muhammad Ali. As a fan of boxing and athleticism, I was very saddened by the news of his death. But on the other hand, as a political figure and former governor of a U.S. federal state, I have to admit I was also slightly relieved. Because, he was black and he was a Muslim - those are two qualities one should not be having in America today. Plus, he was also a boxer. It's a known fact that people with plenty of muscle are endowed everywhere except in the head. Having lived such a violent life, he would have been the perfect recruit following recent events in this country."

The first paragraph of the HOAX story actually comes from a December 2015 Facebook post to Palin's personal account, while the rest of the HOAX story is COMPLETELY FALSE.

This type of NOT TRUE story needlessly incites racism and is a good example of irresponsible journalism.
