Fact Check

  • by: Maarten Schenk

Fake news website react365.com posted an article simply titled "Detroit Pershing Closed because of STD strain." and containing nothing but following sentence:

Detroit Pershing has been closed for two weeks due to a wide spread STD among the student that has reached the staff!!!

The story is fake and there is no truth to this hoax at all.

React365 is a prank website where users can submit their own headline, description and photo to create realistic looking prank news articles.

In this particular case the prank was a big succes, getting over 5000 likes/shares on social media as you can see in the Trendolizer graph at the end of this article. If you notice anyone spreading the rumor around you can help by pointing them to this article here because nobody likes being fooled by fake news.
