Old News: R.I.P Actor Steve Reevis of 'Fargo,' 'Dances With Wolves' Dies at 55

Did actor Seeve Reevis die on September 6, 2018? No, that's not true: he passed away on December 7, 2017 but foreign clickbait websites pretending to be run by native Americans keep reposting his obituary in order to reap advertising revenue from unsuspecting fans of the actor.

The latest version appeared in an article published on September 6, 2018 titled "R.I.P Actor Steve Reevis of 'Fargo,' 'Dances With Wolves' Dies at 55 This AMAZING CAREER HE HAD Aho" (archived here) which opened:

Among the films he was featured in: "Twins," "Dances with Wolves," "Last of the Dogmen," "Fargo," and "The Longest Yard." He also appeared in the TV shows "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "JAG."

Steve Reevis, a Browning native who appeared in dozens of films, has passed away at the age of 56.

According to IMDB, in 1996 Reevis received an award from First Americans in the Arts for his supporting roles in both the critically-acclaimed movie "Fargo" and in the TV movie "Crazy Horse."

Steve Reevis grew up on the Blackfeet Reservation. Steve graduated from South Dakota's Flandreau High School and attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas, where he received a degree in arts.

As you can see the scammers didn't even bother to give their article a proper headline, sloppily copy pasting in something from somewhere. That didn't stop them from getting over 30,000 engagements on Facebook with this piece of clickbait.

Hoax Alert Did Native American Actor Steeve Reevis die on March 18, 2018? No: in reality he's been dead since December 7, 2017 but his obituary was just reposted by a website named "The Native People", probably in a cynical bid to attract clicks.
