Fact Check: Chuck Norris Is NOT Dead From Coronavirus Alive & Well

Did Chuck Norris die of coronavirus? No, that's not true. Hollywood legend Chuck Norris is not dead and there is no indication he contracted coronavirus, despite the claim that is going viral on Facebook. The 77-year-old action hero did not pass away from COVID-19 and the joke post even noted "However, after his minor inconvenience of death, Chuck has made a full recovery, and is reported to be doing quite well."

The claim appeared as a post (archived here) where it was published by Facebook on May 9, 2020. It opened:

This is a joke post and Chuck Norris is alive and well.

The post went viral with over 1,300 shares on Facebook after claiming the "Walker, Texas Ranger" star has shockingly died from coronavirus. Many people fell for the joke before realizing that it wasn't true.

The news seemed like yet another tragedy as the coronavirus outbreak ravages the world.

Carlos Ray "Chuck" Norris, famous actor and fighter, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Northwood Hills, TX at the age of 77.
Chuck Starred in dozens of movies and Tv series which have, and continue to entertain millions of people.
He was also a master of martial arts, which was the cause of his initial fame in the movie industry.

The giveaway came next.

"However, after his minor inconvenience of death, Chuck has made a full recovery, and is reported to be doing quite well."

And because he is a legendary fighter, the post claimed, he defeated coronavirus!

"It has also been reported that the Corona virus is in self isolation for 14 days due to being exposed to Chuck Norris."

Chuck Norris was posting on his official Facebook page as recently as May 20, 2020 -- 11 days after his "death" from coronavirus was first reported.
