Fact Check: NO Evidence Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Have Divorced 'In Bitterness' No Evidence

Have Meghan Markle and Prince Harry divorced, and was it "in bitterness"? No, that's not true: This claim has been circulated from an unverified "news" account that provides no substantive evidence that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have divorced as of this writing. The phrase "Meghan Markle and Prince Harry divorce" does not appear in any news coverage concerning the royals. Also, a recent publication displays Markle wearing her wedding ring while standing beside Harry.

The claim appeared in a Facebook post (archived here) on September 13, 2021. It features a 10-minute 37-second video from "Royal News and Politics Updates," titled "MARRIAGE CRISIS Meghan Markle and Prince Harry divorce in bitterness!" The video opens with a female voiceover:

Marriage crisis, Meghan and Harry divorce in bitterness. Hello and a very warm welcome to Kate Middleton and the Queen News Channel.

This is what the post looked on Facebook on September 16, 2021:

The account showing this video has transparency information that prove it is not a verified or credible news account. Its category is "Gaming Video Creator." Two of the page's creators are in the United States, and one is in the Philippines -- not the United Kingdom, where the news agencies that report on the royals are typically found.

At 0:35 in the video, the narrator says:

Yes, I am an entitled person entitled to my own opinions.

A Google search using the key terms "Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Divorce" does not bring up a divorce between any royals from verified news sites.

The posts on the official Instagram page of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, "sussexroyal," do not include a divorce announcement.

The Twitter trend page does not show any recent story that correlates to this claim either; the divorce of royals would be a significant news event.

The couple has recently been recognized as TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2021, as their Archewell Foundation website announces. In the Time cover photo, published September 15, 2021, Harry is standing beside Meghan, who appears to wear a wedding ring. The issue date is set for "September 27/October 4, 2021," as seen in the top right-hand corner of the cover.
