Fact Check: Graphic Does NOT Show Authentic Fox News Poll With Veterans' Support for Kamala Harris Made-Up Data

Does a social media graphic showing overwhelming support among veterans for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris reflect the results of an authentic Fox News poll? No, that's not true: A spokeswoman for Fox News told Lead Stories the image is fake. She said Fox News has not published such a poll.

The graphic appeared in a post (archived here) on X, formerly known as Twitter, on August 29, 2024. It showed overwhelming support among veterans and active military for Vice President Harris and very little support among those groups for former President Donald Trump. The post read:

Holy moly

This is what the post looked like at the time of writing:

Lead Stories contacted Fox News to ask about the claim. In an email, dated August 30, 2024, a spokeswoman responded that the image is fake. Jessica Ketner wrote:

[W]e have not published a poll with this data.

The latest Fox News Poll (archived here), released August 28, 2024, does not include data on veterans or the active military. The post on X reported the data were collected among registered voters between August 26-28.
