Fact Check: Screenshot Of 'Tim Walz's Communist Agenda' Is NOT Authentic FOX Business Web Page -- It's A Liberal Parody Of FOX Satire

Does an authentic screenshot of the FOX Business website show FOX reporting that "Tim Walz's Communist Agenda" includes unsupervised female health decisions and school lunches for unemployed minors? No, that's not true: It's satire but several online commenters interpreted as a real screenshot. The image was posted previously to a subreddit focused on U.S. political humor.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X on August 8, 2024. The post included an image that looked like a Fox Business screenshot and read:

You have to be a sociopath to think a single item in this list is bad

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

Other items listed on the purported communist agenda of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris's running mate included:

  • "rampant LBGTQIA+ rights"
  • "medical care for elderly, sick or injured"
  • "taxes on corporate profits, couches"
  • "free non-Christian college"
  • "believes in 'climate change' hoax"

The post was made to look like a Fox Business screenshot, but it is not. It is satire.

The image (archived here) was posted in a subreddit on August 7, 2024, that is dedicated to U.S. political humor. The post was identified as satire. It was reposted to X without any such disclaimer.
