Fact Check: NO Evidence Will Smith Said He 'Gave' His Son Jaden To 'Diddy' For His 'Freak Offs' No Statement

Did Will Smith admit to giving his son Jaden Smith to Sean "Diddy" Combs for his "freak off" parties? No, that's not true: There is no evidence that Will Smith ever said that he gave his son to Combs, who was recently arrested for alleged sex crimes. The post on social media and the website it linked to offered no proof the quote was real. The website was registered anonymously in April and lists no owners or publishers. No actual news websites have published anything about Will Smith saying any of this.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on Facebook on October 1, 2024. It said:

Will Smith ADMITS To Giving Jaden Smith To Diddy For His Freak

This is what the post looked like on Facebook at the time of writing:

The post included a link to a website (archived here) with an article titled, "Will Smith ADMITS To Giving Jaden Smith To Diddy For His Freak." There are no sources cited or evidence shown in the article that prove Will Smith "admits to giving" his son, Jaden Smith, to Combs. The site's domain name was registered anonymously in April of 2024 and lists no owners or publishers.

Combs was arrested on September 16, 2024 (archived here), in New York City on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation for purposes of prostitution. He has pled not guilty.

The "freak" reference in the post refers to the allegations in the federal indictment (archived here) against Combs that he caused his victims to "engage in frequent, days-long sexual activity with male commercial sex workers, some of whom were transported over state lines. These events, which COMBS referred to as 'Freak Offs,' were elaborate sex performances that COMBS arranged, directed, and often electronically recorded."

Within the article is a 19:26-minute video that was posted on YouTube (archived here) with the title, "Will Smith ADMITS To Giving Jaden Smith To Diddy For His Freak-Offs." There is no mention of evidence or proof in the video that Will Smith ever made a comment about "giving" his son to Combs.

Using keywords from this headline, Lead Stories searched on Google News (archived here) for reports about Will Smith acknowledging "giving" his son to Combs and found nothing. We then searched more broadly on Google (archived here) for any information about Will Smith "giving" his son to Combs. The results only showed a repetition of the story on social media sites. We found no actual news reports that would confirm the claim.

Lead Stories contacted Will Smith's representative for a comment and will update the story when a response is received.
