Does a video show UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson talking about working with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi? No, that's not true: The Brian Thompson in the video is a different person. The Thompson in the video is an entrepreneur; the footage is from a speech he gave at a workshop in 2012.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X on December 9, 2024. The post included a short video of Thompson talking with the text overlay "UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Working with Nancy Pelosi." The caption read:
The death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has some strange coincidences

- Here he is saying he works with NANCY PELOSI to get grants

I'm sure these are all huge coincidences

The video in the post does not show Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare who was shot and killed early on December 4, 2024, in New York City. It shows Brian Thompson, an entrepreneur.
The video footage is from a workshop the latter Thompson gave in 2012, in connection with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The full clip of his speech can be watched here (archived here). He mentions Pelosi at around the 12:10-minute mark. According to Thompson's LinkedIn page, he studied at the Wharton School and works at Alpha Studio.
