Fact Check: Casey Anthony Did NOT Open a Daycare Center in Branson, Missouri Satire Origin

Did Casey Anthony, a Florida woman cleared of murdering her daughter in 2008, open a daycare center in Branson, Missouri in April 2025? No, that's not true: A widely-shared Facebook post was created by an account that labels its output as satire. In March 2025, Anthony described herself as a legal advocate and researcher.

The claim that Anthony opened a daycare center called "Bright Futures Learning Center" originated in an April 8, 2025 post on Facebook (archived here), which began:

Casey Anthony has officially opened a new daycare facility in Branson, Missouri. The grand opening ceremony took place on Tuesday, drawing significant local attention and curiosity.

Located in the heart of Branson, the daycare, named "Bright Futures Learning Center," aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children aged six months to five years. The facility is equipped with age-appropriate play areas, educational resources, and trained staff to support early childhood development...

The account that published the widely-shared post, "Branson Area Breaking News," labels itself "Satire/Parody" and describes its output as follows:

In 2011, Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee, whose remains were discovered in December 2008. In March 2025, she began posting on the TikTok social network, and said she had embarked on a career as a legal advocate and researcher.
