Many of the social media posts about the supposed confrontation resorted to the apparent use of generative AI to make images that barely resemble the two men.
The claim appeared in a video posted on YouTube on April 9, 2025, under the caption:
When AI Meets Humanity: Elon Musk and Keanu Reeves Clash Over Wealth, Power, and the Future. What happens when Elon Musk, the tech visionary, faces Keanu Reeves, the soulful actor, in a heated live TV debate?

The video, however, did not show the promised, allegedly televised debate: For the entirety of the clip, an apparently AI generated cover image only remotely resembling the appearances of the two men remained a single item on the video track.
A search on Google News for the keywords seen here (archived here) did not show a confirmation that Musk and Reeves ever met on live TV between January 1 and April 10, 2025.
