Fact Check: Video Does NOT Authentically Show Woman's Reaction To Airline Passenger Flying In Red MAGA Hat Actors

Does a viral video depict a real-life scene showing a woman protesting against being seated next to a man in a MAGA hat on a plane? No, that's not true: The footage was initially uploaded on the internet by an account that publishes sketches. Those clips show the same actors in various roles.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X where it was published on April 27, 2025. It opened:

If this is the reaction, I'm buying a MAGA hat...

The post included a video that seemed to show a woman sitting next to a man in the red MAGA hat yelling:

I can't sit next to this thing!

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The video originated (archived here) from another account on TikTik, @networkmediaissod. As Lead Stories previously wrote, it publishes sketches, not real-life videos.

The account posted several variations of the supposed onboard MAGA hat scenes, including those -- here (archived here) and here (arrived here) -- in which the same man implied to have been a passenger in the clip reviewed in this fact check appeared as a pilot.
