Fact Check: Video Does NOT Feature JD Vance's Sister Asking Internet To Stop Saying He Killed Pope Francis -- Comedian's Series Satire Origin

Did JD Vance's sister take to social media to ask internet trolls to stop saying the Vice President killed Pope Francis? No, that's not true: The video is one of a series by comedian Blair Erskine in which she has played roles such as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's baby sitter and a Trump voter waiting in the cold for a delayed rally. Some social media users re-posted it without noting it was satire.

After Erskine posted the original, it was re-posted by others, including this April 23, 2025 repost (archived here) on the @EastEndJoe account under the title "J.D Vance's sister says her brother didn't kill the Pope." The video opens with Erskine saying:

JD did not kill the Pope. The Pope had pneumonia.
Now, does JD suck all the air out of a room when he enters? Yes, he does.
My mamaw used to call him 'My little queen' like the Little Queen vacuums, because he would suck so much. He would suck the air out of the room. He would suck his thumb. He would suck.

This is how the post appeared on @EastEndJoe at the time this fact check was written:

Erskine had posted the video to X a day before, with a different caption:

JD Vance's sister begs people to stop joking about his visit with the Pope.

Erskine, whose X bio describes her as "emmy nominated/emmy losing writer & comedian" included in the video a secondary spoof: a fund-raising appeal to help My Pillow founder Mike Lindell, who in April 2025 described himself as financially ruined in court hearings over his failure to pay fines related to defamation suits brought by voting machine companies he falsely accused of rigging the 2020 election in favor of Joe Biden.

The pop-up ad reads:

Erskine's other satire videos include an April 21, 2025 post in which she plays "Taylor", Defense Secretary Hegseth's babysitter, saying that he texted her "...like war plans or whatever" and an October, 2020 video in which she plays a Trump voter shivering in the cold while waiting for a delayed Trump rally in Omaha, Nebraska.
