Did a still image shared widely in May 2025 really show a Black teen about to be arrested on outstanding warrants, immediately after walking at his high school graduation? No, that's not true: The image was originally posted by the young man's mother, Queena Foster, who also posted a video of her son resuming his seat immediately after that moment, as well as photos of the family enjoying a celebratory meal afterwards. A Facebook user whose bio reads "comedian" re-posted the photo with the false "arrest" narrative.
The claim appeared in a May 26, 2025, post on Facebook (archived here), along with the following caption:
My cousin had warrants the police was at his graduation and let him walk before they took him in
This is what it looked like at the time of writing:

In reality, no such arrest took place. The bio of the Facebook user who posted that caption, Chad Welch, contains the description "Comedian", and the false narrative appears to have been intended as a joke.
The image was originally posted to Facebook on May 24 by Queena Foster, and shows a moment from her son Spencer Foster's May 23 graduation ceremony from Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas. The smiling teen can be seen fist bumping with a school police officer.
Far from being arrested later that evening, Foster enjoyed a celebratory meal with his family, photos of which were posted online by his mother.
Furthermore, after the photo went viral with a false narrative added to it, she posted video footage of the same moment, which clearly shows that this was a light-hearted moment of affection, after which her son resumed his seat undisturbed:
@celeste_queena This world is so sickening 💔 A picture of my son is being posted all across the internet about him having warrants and being arrested after graduation smh, why tf would people make some false information about a child graduating. This cop works at the school and has a great relationship with the students. He was proud of JJ this was really a big moment for not only him but myself as well. He been through alot in his life and to joke about this is unacceptable 😤 #graduation2025 #momsoftiktok #fyp #foryoupage #motherhood #tiktok ♬ original sound - Celeste Queena
In a May 27 post on Facebook, Foster called the false information "sickening":
My son was never arrested or had any warrants to be picked up after graduation. (NEVER)
We have no kind of affiliation with these people saying my child is their cousin.
This is false information, my son didn't get locked up, and I took him to his favorite food place to celebrate his big accomplishment after graduation was over. People read anything and believe it, that's a cool cop who loves the students he protects at schoolVERY SICKENING TO SHARE FALSE INFORMATION ABOUT MY CHILD
