Fact Check: Chelsea FC Did NOT Post Photoshopped Image Removing Trump From Trophy Raising Scene At FIFA Club World Cup Final Not Official

Did Chelsea FC photoshop President Trump out of their official trophy raising photo after the FIFA Club World Cup final? No, that's not true: A viral image that was digitally edited to remove Trump from the scene did not appear on the soccer club's official social media accounts. The image they actually posted does show Trump in the background.

The image appeared in a post on X (archived here) where it was published on July 14, 2025 with a caption that read:

Trump refused to leave even after they were practically pushing him away so Chelsea photoshopped him out of their official trophy raising photo. Good move.

This is what the image looked like:

It is unclear what the source of the original picture was, but it appears to show this moment in the trophy raising ceremony that can be seen at 3:48 on the YouTube channel of DAZN Football (archived here):

However, the edited picture did not appear on the club's official X account (archived here), Instagram (archived here) or Facebook page (archived here).

The club did post an official trophy raising picture to several of their social media accounts, for example on Instagram (archived here):

That picture did feature President Trump:
