Did the rapper Jelly Roll donate $50 million to help recovery efforts after devastating flooding in parts of Texas, in July 2025? No, that's not true: We found no corroboration for a blog post that was shared widely and also claimed Jelly Roll had personally joined rescue and recovery efforts on the ground. A statement attributed to Jelly Roll was completely fabricated.
The story appeared in a July 7, 2025, blog post (archived here) with the headline "Jelly Roll Doпates $50 Millioп aпd Heads to Texas Flood Zoпe to Help Victims Persoпally". The story read, in part:
In a stunning act of generosity and compassion, the Grammy-nominated artist has donated a jaw-dropping $50 million to aid the victims of the catastrophic flash floods that have devastated parts of Texas. But that's not all -- he's not stopping at just writing a check.
To the surprise of fans and local authorities alike, Jelly Roll is reportedly on his way to the disaster site in person, determined to offer hands-on support and comfort families who have lost everything...
"When I saw the footage of people clinging to rooftops and children crying for their missing parents, my heart broke," Jelly Roll said in a statement. "I knew I had to do something -- money helps, but showing up means everything."
...What shocked fans even more was the news that Jelly Roll is personally traveling to the hardest-hit areas, including rural counties that are still without power and resources.
Photos shared online show the artist loading supplies onto trucks, wearing boots and a plain T-shirt...
This is what it looked like at the time of writing:

That story was false, and was re-shared along with a viral July 7 Facebook post (archived here).
A search of Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) for the words "Jelly Roll" and "flood" yielded no relevant results, meaning we found no even inadvertent corroboration for the claims that he had announced a $50 million donation, and had appeared in person to help recovery efforts.
Furthermore, the statement attributed to Jelly Roll in the blog post was fabricated. A Google search (archived here) for fragments from the statement yielded no relevant results, and we found no trace of any such statement on Jelly Roll's official website, or on his Facebook, Instagram and X accounts.
