Does this video clip show Jon Stewart making "a savage reply to Trump's India tariff?" No, that's not true: The video clip posted on social media is not real. The video about Trump's India tariff was posted during the time when Stewart's "The Daily Show" was on summer break.

The 28-second video appeared in a post on X (archived here) on Aug. 17, 2025 where it was published by @Thodahasle34127. It was captioned:

Although there is no @business_bulletins account on X, there is one on YouTube -- and the fake Jon Stewart video (archived here) was posted there on Aug. 14, 2025. (pictured below). The video has a disclosure notice visible in the lower right corner (circled in red) which says, "Altered or synthetic content." Another disclaimer can be found in the description (below right) which states:
