Fact Check: Michael Jackson's Son Did NOT Say He Is Still Alive -- The Man In Video Is NOT His Son And Jackson Died In 2009 MJ Died

Was Michael Jackson's son caught on a livestream saying his father is still alive? No, that's not true: The man in boxing influencer Ed Matthews' video is not Michael Jackson's son. In a longer clip the man identified himself as Parker, and says that his father was Michael Jackson's best friend. He did not say that Jackson is still alive, but only that he hopes so. Lead Stories has confirmed that Jackson died on June 25, 2009, was embalmed and buried.

The video (archived here) was published on TikTok by @m3kick on Aug. 24, 2025. It opened:

A Google search for the phrase, "Prince Michael Jackson Jr. on live video with Ed Matthews" turned up a video on the @KickClipsLive X account which was posted on Aug. 24, 2025. The video did not include Michael Jackson's son, and the man in the video, Parker, did not say that Michael Jackson is still alive. The video (archived here) was captioned:

Ed Matthews meets the son of Michael Jackson's best friend at an exclusive invite-only after party 😳

A second video (pictured below) posted the same day (archived here) shows another part of the exchange at the after party. It is captioned:

Ed Matthews gets told Michael Jackson might still be ALIVE in a spaceship 👀🚀

In the first video (pictured above) the two men introduce themselves and Parker says that his dad was Michael Jackson's best friend. In the second video clip Matthews steers the conversation by prompting:

Part of me still thinks that Michael is still alive.

Parker replies:

Oh yeah. Maybe. I hope sometimes that he's in a spaceship flying around. Yeah, I don't know. My mom says it, but I don't think so. I mean, I hope so.

Lead Stories previously debunked a claim that Jackson's body was cremated and made into necklaces. The official death certificate documented by Lead Stories Editor-in-Chief Alan Duke not only confirmed that Jackson died on June 25, 2009, but also confirmed that his body was embalmed and buried in a cemetery.
