Fact Check: Gavin Newsom's Press Office Did NOT Write About Trump 'Fat Satan Broke The UN Escalator' -- It's A Parody Account Parody Account

Did Gavin Newsom's official press office X.com account post a message about Donald Trump saying "Fat Satan broke the UN escalator?" No, that's not true: The message was posted by a parody account, not California Governor Newsom's official press account on X.com, which he uses to troll Trump and conservatives. His official account called Trump "Dozy Don" after his escalator stopped halfway up at the UN meeting in New York, not "Fat Satan."

The claim appeared in a September 23, 2025 video post on TikTok account @melissaann1214 (archived here) with following caption:

Nooooo #greenscreen #gavinnewsom #funny #california

Users on social media only saw this title, description and thumbnail:

This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing:

The video shows a screenshot of a post from the September 23, 2025 X.com account @AwesomeNewsom (archived here) which is a self-described parody account:

That account mimics Newsom's official press account @GovPressOffice, which the governor uses to mock Trump and conservatives, imitating Trump's all-caps writing to post satirical messages, memes and photos. The @GovPressOffice account did post a September 23, 2025, message about Trump's escalator incident (archived here), in which it stopped halfway up at the UN.

Newsom's press office tweeted (archived here) a satirical message, but called him "Dozy Don," not "Fat Satan":
