Fact Check: Clickbait Brandon Lake Super Bowl Halftime Show Charlie Kirk Tribute Story Made Up By Foreign Spam Network Made-Up

Did the NFL announce the Super Bowl half time show will have a Charlie Kirk tribute including a performance by Brandon Lake? No, that's not true: A viral story making that claim was published by a foreign-run spam network with elements in Pakistan and Vietnam. The NFL did not make any such announcement.

The news about the "announcement" appeared in an article (archived here) published on a website named "N" under the headline "BREAKING NEWS: NFL Confirms Super Bowl Tribute to Charlie Kirk Featuring Brandon Lake - A Halftime Show Set to Shake America" on October 11, 2025. It opened:

The NFL has officially confirmed that this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show will include a special tribute to conservative leader Charlie Kirk, with country music and worship artist Brandon Lake headlining the performance.
The announcement has sent shockwaves through both the sports and entertainment worlds, promising one of the most powerful and emotional Super Bowl moments in history.

The story was further promoted by a Facebook post (archived here) from a page named "Tune Nest" that read:

The NFL's news page (archived here) contained no such announcement.

The story also quoted an anonymous fan who allegedly posted something on X in reaction, but a search for the quote (archived here) brought up no such post:

Brandon Lake is going to bring the house down," one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).

A search on Google News for stories containing the phrases "Brandon Lake", "super bowl" and "halftime show" did not bring up any results (archived here) about any such announcement either.
