Did Carlos Santana post on X.com that he asked Netflix to remove his scenes from a movie because he doesn't approve of LGBTQ-themed children's films on Netflix? No, that's not true: At the time of writing, there was no such post on Santana's account showing the musician told Netflix to remove him from a film project. Santana's official X.com account does not have a blue check mark like the one in the social media post. A search for the statement found no matching posts by Santana with that message.
The claim appeared in an October 20, 2025 post on the Instagram account @scottythekid article (archived here). It showed an image of a tweet by Santana with the following text:
I have asked Netflix to remove all of my scenes from the film because I no longer want to be associated with the project.
This is what the image looked like on Instagram at the time of writing:

The caption on the post claimed he was canceling his project due to issues with LGBTQ content:
BREAKING: Carlos Santana RECOMMENDS NETFLIX to cut all of his footage from a new music documentary about his life and artistic journey after his most recent tour.
The Grammy-winning guitar legend has publicly "CANCELLED NETFLIX" after discovering the platform was releasing LGBT-themed children's films without parental controls.
The image used in the post shows a screenshot of an X.com post purporting to be Santana's, using the correct account name @SantanaCarlos. But, the musician's real account does not have a blue verified checkmark as this screenshot shows:

A search on X.com of the @SantanaCarlos account with the quote did not find any matching posts as this screenshot shows:

As a world-famous music star, had Santana made such a statement it would have been major news. A search on Google (archived here) did not find any matching legitimate news reports about Santana telling Netflix to remove his scenes from a film project. Similarly, the Yahoo! News index of partner news sites and news services (archived here) showed similar fake social media posts and no legitimate news reports that Santana told Netflix to remove his footage.
The post does not offer any proof that there is a Netflix film about Santana's life upcoming. A 2023 documentary Carlos about his career is available on Peacock and other streaming services, but not Netflix as of publication date.
