Fact Check: FAKE Ring Doorbell Camera Video Of Dog Bringing A Bear Home Onto Porch -- It's AI AI Generated

Does a video that looks like Ring doorbell footage authentically show a dog bringing a bear home onto the porch of a home? Unfortunately, no: Much to the disappointment and surprise of some viewers of the cute video, the footage is clearly AI generated. The VEO watermark logo on the lower right corner indicated it was made with Google's artificial intelligence tool.

The story originated in a July 24, 2025 TikTok video (archived here) posted on the account @ummmglass but has gained popularity in October 2025. It opens with the caption:

My dog brought a bear home

This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing:

The video shows a heartwarming scene of a black dog and a black bear on a front porch walking around and then sitting down outside the door. There is a Ring logo on the right middle of the video.

However, there is a small VEO logo on the video, too. VEO (archived here) is an aritifical intelligence video generator from Google DeepMind described as: "Our state-of-the-art video generation model." As this screenshot shows, the VEO logo is clearly visible in the lower right hand corner of the video (red circle added by Lead Stories):

Other AI generated videos with the VEO watermark have been reported on by Lead Stories, including this one about a lion roaring at an AI robot, which was not real footage.

Josh Woodward, Vice President with Google Labs and Google Gemini, announced the addition of the visible VEO3 watermark in a post on his X.com account @joshwoodward (archived here) on May 30, 2025:

One last thing: We've also added visible watermarks to all videos, except for videos from Ultra members in Flow. This is a first step as we work to make our SynthID Detector available to more people in parallel.
