Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show Moment Marimar "La Maggie" Martinez Was Shot After Allegedly Ramming A DHS SUV In Chicago Other Incident

Does a video show the moment Marimar Martinez was shot by a federal agent in southwest Chicago after she allegedly rammed a Department of Homeland Security SUV? No, that's not true: This video does not show the incident Martinez incident. It shows a different collision which happened later the same day a few blocks away.

The miscaptioned video appeared in a post (archived here) published by @KimKatieUSA on Oct. 5, 2025. The post is captioned:

BREAKING: This is the video where Marimar Martinez, aka La Maggie, rammed a white DHS vehicle who had their emergency lights on. Another DHS black SUV then attempts to ram Marimar's SUV from behind. One DHS agent is on the passenger side firing shots. Democrats are insane.

This is a screenshot of the video in the post:

A post (archived here) from @TriciaOhio, the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, directly addressed the post in question (pictured below). She wrote:

This footage is NOT from the attack in Chicago involving the 10 car caravan blockading our law enforcement, not involving "La Maggie."
This is from ANOTHER vehicular assault later that day in Chicago where an individual rammed an
@ICEGov vehicle.
This violence is rampant, as much as JB Pritzker wants to white wash the facts on the ground.

An Oct. 4, 2025 news report (archived here) from ABC 7 Chicago is posted on YouTube under the title, "Federal agents shoot armed woman, 2 arrested in alleged Brighton Park vehicle ramming, DHS says". There are two different ramming incidents described in the 2-minute, 26-second clip. The first happened in the morning near Pershing Road and Kedzie Avenue. Two people were arrested, including the woman who was shot -- she had already been named in a border patrol intelligence bulletin before the incident. A second incident happened a few blocks away from the first at 37th Street and Kedzie Avenue. This is the location which appears in the video posted on X by @KimKatieUSA.

Lead Stories used Google instantstreetview.com to verify the train trestle with graffiti appearing in the @KimKatieUSA video crosses Kedzie Avenue just north of 37th Street (pictured below). A building with the number 3700 S. Kedzie also appears at 55-seconds in the video.

In the criminal complaint (PDF here) filed on Oct. 5, 2025 in the United States District Court Northern District of Ill. Eastern Division, the vehicle driven by Marimar Martinez was described as a silver Nissan Rogue. At one minute 13-seconds in the ABC 7 Chicago news story, that silver Nissan Rogue is pictured, taped off with red crime scene tape, at a business located at South California Avenue and 35th Street.
