Fact Check: Photo Of Walmart Clearance Sale On All Trump Merch for 99 Cents Is NOT Real -- Gemini 2.0 AI Made It AI Made This

Is an image of a Walmart clearance sale on all Trump Merchandise for 99 cents in November 2025 real? No, that's not true: The photo includes a Gemini watermark in the lower-right corner, indicating it was created with Google's generative AI app. There are several misspellings on the merchandise that confirm it is fake, including a red MAGA hat that reads: "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAMI."

The photo appeared in a post (archived here) shared by the @EastEndJoe account on X on November 19, 2025. The caption read:

Meanwhile...at Walmart..

This is what the image looked like at the time of writing:

Every passing day makes it tougher to confirm if an image is authentic or if it was generated by artificial intelligence tools. However, Google AI has made it easier for fact checkers to identify those made by its Gemini app. This image includes the SynthID Watermark, a four-pointed star in the lower right corner:

Even without the watermark, there are significant red flags indicating the Trump merchandise in the image is not real. Note the garbled text such as "Traga" below MAGA:

What might be intended to say "Trump Bible" is "Trump Eidle":

And the red Trump MAGA hats have various misspellings, including "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAMI."
