Fact Check: White House Did NOT Call Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, Juneteenth 'Made Up Holidays' -- Satire Account Parody Account

Did the White House call Martin Luther King Jr's birthday and Juneteenth "made up holidays?" No, that's not true: A parody account posted the meme that mimicked the format and design of White House message. The administration did remove MLK Jr. Day and Juneteenth from the list of days visitors can access National Parks for free in November 2025, but the Trump Administration did not post a message saying those two days are "made up holidays."

The claim appeared in a December 9, 2025 post on X.com account @TheRealThelmaJ1 (archived here). It opened with the caption:

Shamefull

This is what the image in the X.com post looked like at the time of writing:

The text read:

For too long Americans have had to suffer with the made up holidays known as "Martin Luther King Day" and "Juneteenth." That's why President Trump has removed these as free admission days from the National Park Calendar and he has directed the park service to raise the "usual rate" by five dollars on those dates.
The money will be used to help put the 10 Commandments in schools where they belong!
Delivering for America!

The bio of the account that posted the message states it is a parody account, as this screenshot shows:

A Google lens search using the image from the post does not find any matching messages from the White House. A key word search on Google News and Yahoo! News (archived here) did not find any relevant results that the Trump White House had posted such a message, further underlining the story's fictional nature. The message mimics the blue background and white text from the White House, but a search on whitehouse.gov for key phrases does not return any matches of the message calling "Martin Luther King Day" and "Juneteenth" made-up holidays.
The Trump administration eliminated Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth as fee-free days for Americans entering National Parks in 2026, as Fox News reported on December 7, 2025. The U.S. Department of Interior announced the 2026 fee-free days on the website (archived here) on November 25, 2025, with both MLK Jr. Day and Juneteenth having been taken off the list in the 2026 calendar. The announcement did not say MLK Jr. Day or Juneteenth were "made up holidays" and it did not say the fees would increase by five dollars on those days.
