Does the name of Mira Nair, the mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, appear in the Epstein files? Yes, that is true: Lead Stories located an email that mentions her appearance at an afterparty for one of her films. The event occurred in 2009.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) published on February 1, 2026. It opened:

Breaking from the Epstein Files: Mira Nair (Mom of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani) Spotted at Ghislaine Maxwell's 2009 Party--Guests Included Bill Clinton and Jeff Bezos...

Original documents released on January 30, 2026, by the Department of Justice as part of a new cache of files exceeding three million pages (archived here), confirm that Mira Nair's name appears in at least one email from the Epstein files (archived here):

Reporting from the New York Post (archived here) offers more context. According to its article, the event in question was "an afterparty at convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell's house" for "Amelia" (archived here), a biopic about American pilot Amelia Earhart directed by Mira Nair. The email was authored by publicist Peggy Siegal (archived here).
