Did a video show a mother donkey defend her foal from a fox attack and damage the barn in the process? No, that's not true: A content detection tool determined with 99.9 percent confidence that the video was AI generated. It was made to look like black-and-white CCTV footage filmed by a security camera.
The video was shared in a post (archived here) published by @Crazymoments01 on X on March 26, 2026. It was captioned:

The video has a roving username watermark in Chinese. The name is @神精农场, or @Shenjing Farm, which could be translated to "crazy farm," an account on the Chinese version of TikTok, Douyin.
The video was uploaded (archived here) to TikTok on March 25, 2026 by the account @nutsyfarm. The post has a "contains AI-generated media" disclaimer. The post was captioned:

The video shows a donkey jenny tied to a post by her neck. When a fox attacks her foal, she struggles to defend it. She finally breaks free, breaking the post and causing parts of the barn to fall. She stomps on the fox and then picks it up in her mouth, repeatedly beating its limp body against the ground. Although the barn floor appears to be dirt, the audio makes a loud hollow sound with each hit. After receiving what would have been a fatal flogging, the fox stands up and runs away, seemingly uninjured.

The video was published by a TikTok account featuring AI-generated videos of encounters between domestic and wild animals.
Later on March 25, 2026, @nutsyfarm uploaded another fake CCTV video showing a stable interior (archived here). The pseudo date stamp on this video, "26/03/18 23:15:12" is similar to the one in the donkey video, "26/03/16 23:22:12." In this AI-generated scenario the fox attacks the horse foal from behind just as with the donkey foal. The defending mare seems to become confused and repeatedly stomps at her own foal. The fox looks on from the corner, assuming a human posture as if screaming in horror with its paws held to its face (pictured below).
