Fact Check: Trump Did NOT Post 'Mojtaba Khamenei Are You Ready To Meet Your Father?' Never Posted

Did President Donald Trump post, "Mojtaba Khamenei are you ready to meet your father?" No, that's not true: The fake post did not come from the president's official Truth Social account. While Trump has called Mojtaba Khamenei -- Iran's new supreme leader and the son of the late longtime leader Ali Khamenei -- a "lightweight" and "unacceptable," he has not directly threatened him.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) on X on March 9, 2026. It read:

Trump knows...

And the text of the image in the post asked:

Mojtaba Khamenei are you ready to meet your father?

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

Conflict in the Middle East

The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on Feb. 28, 2026, which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (archived here) in an airstrike on his compound in Tehran. Iran has since responded with drone and missile strikes against the U.S. and allied targets across the Middle East.

No Truth Social post

Lead Stories conducted an advanced Google search (archived here) of the president's Truth Social account. It returned no results for the implied threat: "Mojtaba Khamenei are you ready to meet your father?" There are also no credible news reports (archived here) of a Trump social media post making the threat.
