Fact Check: FAKE Eurosport Video Report Says Kylian Mbappé Accused Emmanuel Macron of Sexual Harassment -- Copycat Website Bogus Claim

Does a real Eurosport video report say French soccer star Kylian Mbappé accused French President Emmanuel Macron of sexual harassment? No, that's not true: The video links to a fake website designed to mimic the appearance of the real Eurosport site. Lead Stories found no credible news reports or other reliable evidence confirming that Mbappé made such an accusation against Macron.

The claim appeared in a post and video (archived here) by the @ROYALMRBADNEWS account on X on June 6, 2026. It opened:

BREAKING: Kylian Mbappé, one of the world's most famous and successful footballers, accused Emmanuel Macron of sexual harassment and claimed it was the reason he left France for Spain. euro-sport.fr/mbappe-a-evoqu

This is what a screenshot of the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The link in the post -- euro-sport.fr/mbappe-a-evoqu (archived here) -- leads to a fake website designed to look like the real Eurosport site. The legitimate Eurosport website (archived here) uses no hyphen in its domain name; its address is https://www.eurosport.fr/. Unlike the established Eurosport website, the copycat site is not a recognized media organization. According to the WHOIS data (archived here), that domain had been registered just days before the article's publication on May 31, 2026:

AI detection

The Hive Moderation AI-Generated Content Detection tool concluded that the video -- which includes real footage but fake context and an AI-generated voiceover -- was 91.3% "likely to be AI-generated":

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) and did not find any matching reports for "Kylian Mbappé, Emmanuel Macron, and sexual harassment." Had there been such a claim by Mbappé, there likely would have been widespread news coverage.
