Fact Check: FAKE Post Shows Donald Trump Writing 'Happy Pride Month' Message To Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis Never Posted
Did President Donald Trump post a message that wished Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a "happy pride month" calling him "Ron DeFAGGOT"? No, that's not true: The message that looks like a Truth Social post is fake. Trump did not post the message on his Truth Social account. The same message was posted in 2023 and also shown to be fake.

The image appeared in a June 1, 2026, post on X account @daytwinking (archived here). It opened:

Happy PRIDE MONTH to the "Governor" of Florida, Ron DeFAGGOT!

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The screenshot imitates the appearance and style of a Truth Social post by @realDonaldTrump. The "post" contains a derogatory and homophobic slur aimed at Florida Governor DeSantis. A search of keywords on Truth Social found no such post by Trump (archived here), as this screenshot shows:

The website Trump's Truth, an archive of his posts on Truth Social, did not have a record of any such post (archived here).

Such an announcement would have attracted wide coverage, given Trump's prominence and ongoing news media focus on Pride Month. Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) and found the same post was published in 2023 and debunked as fake by other fact-checking agencies.
