Fact Check: No Evidence Jordan Peterson Died In Early June 2026 No Evidence

Did author and media personality Jordan Peterson die in early June 2026? No, that's not true: At the time of publication, no evidence suggested that Peterson had died. None of his social media accounts or mainstream news organizations had reported on his supposed death.

The claim appeared in a post published on X on June 4, 2026 (archived here). It read:

RIP Jordan Peterson (1982-2026)

The post lists Peterson's birth year as 1982, which is incorrect -- he was born in 1962 and is in his sixties (archived here):

While Peterson has suffered from recent health challenges, as discussed by his daughter online (archived here), there have been no official announcements that he is dead. A Google News search for "Jordan Peterson AND dead AND 2026" did not show credible results that corroborated the claim (archived here).

Peterson's official Facebook account, which at the time of writing is the most up-to-date of his social media accounts, did not report on his death (archived here). Peterson's official website has not posted about his death, either (archived here).

Lead Stories reached out to Peterson's media contact and will update this story with any relevant response.
