Fact Check: NO Evidence Photo Of Somali Woman With Slashed Face After Alleged Dublin Incident On June 8, 2026, Is Real No Reports

Does a real photo show a Somali woman with a slashed face after an alleged Dublin attack on June 8, 2026? No, that's not true: As of June 10, 2026, Lead Stories found no credible news reports or other reliable evidence confirming that such an incident occurred, nor any evidence that the image authentically depicts a Somali woman injured in Dublin in early June 2026.

The claim appeared in a post and image (archived here) by the @lil_doza account on X on June 9, 2026. It read:

JUST IN : A somali [sic] woman was hospitalised in Dublin on Monday after she was brutally attacked UNPROVOKED.

Her hijab was ripped off and her face was slashed.

Not one single report on main stream [sic] media on this horrific incident.

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

A reverse image search (archived here) on Google Images found "no exact matches."

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo! News (archived here) and did not find any matching reports for "Somali woman," "Dublin," and "face slashed." If there had been such an incident, there would likely have been widespread news coverage in Ireland.

Lead Stories contacted An Garda Síochána (archived here), Ireland's national police and security service, to see whether it had a record of the alleged assault described in the social media post. In a June 10, 2026, email, it responded:

An Garda Síochána does not provide comment on third party remarks.

In a follow-up email the same day, Lead Stories asked: "Does An Garda Síochána have any reports from 6 June 2026 to 9 June 2026 of a woman being slashed across her face and hospitalised in the Dublin area?" An Garda Síochána responded:

The Garda Press Office requires specific details about an alleged incident in order to make enquiries such as specific location in Dublin and date.

We are unable to conduct [a] scoping exercise.

A scoping exercise is akin to a general search.

In another follow-up email on June 10, 2026, Lead Stories asked: "Is the Garda able to say that there are no reports matching this alleged attack?"

An Garda Síochána did not provide an immediate response.
