Did President Donald Trump post an image of himself as a football player, surrounded by half-naked male cheerleaders? No, that's not true: The message made to mimic a Truth Social post is fake. Trump did not post the image, which depicts him as a football player with bulging leg muscles in American flag shorts, surrounded by shirtless male cheerleaders.
The image appeared in a June 3, 2026, post on X account @DougWahl1 (archived here). It opened:
I am impressed!
I was sure Donald Trump would never post anything about pride month. And then he posted this!
Clearly, I was wrong!
This is what the image in the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The website Trump's Truth, an archive of his posts on Truth Social with a "searchable index of his statements, video transcripts, and image descriptions," did not include a record of any such post (archived here). The three results found using the keyword "football" did not match the image of Trump dressed like a football player, as this screenshot shows:

The image, in which Trump wears football shoulder pads, but holds a basketball and rests his foot on another basketball beside a soccer ball, was originally posted on X account @GaryPetersonUSA on May 30, 206. Peterson then posted the fake Truth Social post on June 4, 2026, claiming that Trump had posted the art to his Truth Social account.

Here is the June 4 post (archived here) claiming Trump used his art in his own Truth Social post:![]()
