Does a video show an ambush or IED attack on a convoy of M1A Abrams tanks crossing a bridge? No, that's not true: This video is fake. It circulated on social media in early April 2026 with captions claiming it showed Israeli tanks attacked by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The Hive Moderation AI-generated content detection tool rated one early copy of the video 99.9% likely to be AI-generated. Several fact checks were published at the time in English, Turkish, French, and Arabic.
The video resurfaced in a post (archived here) published by the X account @WarArchiveClips on July 15, 2026. It was captioned:
Is this IED [sic] attack or ambush [sic]

Lead Stories uncovered earlier copies of the video using Google Lens reverse image search (archived here). Two copies of the video were published on April 8, 2026, one on X (archived here) and one on Facebook (archived here). The Facebook post was captioned in Arabic; an automatic translation reads:
I swear by the Almighty that no one in the Israeli entity has ever done what the Great Power of the East has done.
Lead Stories uploaded the April 8, 2026, video from Facebook to the Hive Moderation AI-generated content detection tool (archived here). The result said the input is 99.9% likely to contain AI-generated content (pictured below).

The GIF below (slowed down detail) shows a glitch in the AI-generated scene. As the first tank is crossing the bridge it lurches upward for no reason before the explosion even happens.
