Fact Check: FAKE Video Shows A Wedding Party Fall To The Street When A Balcony Collapses -- It Is AI-Generated Made With AI

Does a real video show an incident where a wedding party dancing on a balcony fell to the street when the balcony suddenly collapsed? No, that's not true: The video posted on Instagram as early as January 28, 2026, has a disclaimer added by the creator that the video was made with AI. The AI-generated content detection tool from Hive Moderation also determined that the video was 99.9% likely to contain AI-generated content.

The watermarked video reappeared in a post (archived here) published by the X account @i1clx on July 23, 2026. The Arabic caption was automatically translated:

A video circulating today from Mexico: The collapse of a balcony during a bride's wedding celebration..

This is a screenshot of the video in the post:

A watermark in the lower portion of the video displays text both forward and backward so it remains legible if the video is flipped horizontally. It reads:

Volkan Evcil

This watermark points to a creator from Turkey with a YouTube, TikTok and Instagram account with the handle @merakmerkezi_2024 (archived here). The Instagram video in question (archived here) was published on January 28, 2026 and is blurred with an Instagram "sensitive content" warning, requiring the viewer to click again if they want to see the reel. The video was posted the same day on TikTok and YouTube (archived here and here). The post is captioned:

A balcony collapsed while people were celebrating on it at a wedding in Italy.

Most, but not all, of the videos posted by this account have a "Made with AI" disclaimer that was applied by the creator (pictured below). When the "AI info" text is clicked, it reads:
